Candle Safety & Care Guide

Candle Burning Safety 🌳

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

  • Maintain at least 10cm between burning candles.

  • Burn only on a level, heat-resistant surface and away from anything flammable.

  • Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Do not let the flame touch the sides of the container. The container may become hot during use.

  • Extinguish your candle when 5cm of wax remains and do not relight.

  • Our glass Bell Jars are decorative; they are not designed to extinguish candles. Only place them over the candle once it is fully extinguished and the wax has cooled.

Getting the Most Out of Your Candle

Allow a Full Melt Pool

Always allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the container during each burn. This prevents tunnelling and ensures you use all your wax. Burn sessions: 3–4 hours, never leave unattended.

Trim Your Wick

Before each burn, trim your wick to 5mm to avoid large flames and smoke. Remove any blackened wick with scissors.

Repurpose Your Candle Containers

Your Kip Candle Co. containers make perfect planters or storage jars.

  1. Scrape out leftover wax.

  2. Wash the inside with warm soapy water.

  3. Avoid washing the outside of Original Metal Containers to preserve their polished finish.
